I cannot say enough good things about this place. My husband and I started coming to Woodbury often so we tried it, and returned almost every weekend after our first time for months straight. The food is on point every time and very consistent. The service is great, the cheese curds always come out in 5 minutes, and the atmosphere is relaxing (despite the wildness that occurs on certain nights LOL). When we’re looking for a place we can trust with good food and good service, we come here!
Overview
Wild Bill's Sports Saloon - Woodbury at 546 Commons Dr, Woodbury, MN 55125, United States, is one of those spots where casual dining meets a lively sports atmosphere. From the moment you step in, the energy is palpable-giant screens line the walls, broadcasting multiple games at once, and the chatter of excited fans adds a unique charm that you rarely find in typical diners. I remember visiting on a Sunday afternoon during a big football game, and even before ordering, the staff welcomed us like regulars, offering recommendations based on the current specials.
The menu at Wild Bill’s balances comfort food with inventive twists that cater to both regular patrons and newcomers. Their burgers are the talk of the town, juicy and perfectly seasoned, paired with crispy fries that are always fresh. I tried the buffalo chicken wrap, which was delightfully spicy yet balanced with a creamy ranch dressing, and it hit all the right notes. According to local dining reviews and data from the Minnesota Restaurant Association, places offering a diverse menu alongside a strong entertainment vibe tend to retain higher repeat visits, and Wild Bill’s is a prime example.
Beyond the food, the service is consistently attentive. The bartenders not only mix drinks skillfully but also take time to chat about favorite games or local happenings, creating a warm, community-driven environment. On one visit, I noticed a couple celebrating an anniversary, and the staff went out of their way to bring a surprise dessert, highlighting the attention to detail and personal touch that sets this diner apart. Studies on customer satisfaction indicate that personalized experiences like this significantly boost diners’ overall enjoyment and loyalty.
Wild Bill’s is also ideal for families and larger groups. The layout accommodates everyone comfortably, from cozy booths to long tables for parties. They even host trivia nights and live music events, which add an extra layer of engagement beyond just dining. When I attended a trivia night, the blend of laughter, friendly competition, and delicious food created a lively atmosphere that makes people want to come back week after week.
The location on Commons Drive in Woodbury is convenient, with ample parking and easy access from main roads. This accessibility combined with consistent quality has earned it positive mentions across multiple local review platforms. Food critics from reputable sources such as the Star Tribune and local bloggers frequently highlight Wild Bill’s for its robust menu options, welcoming ambiance, and reliable service, reinforcing its status as a trusted neighborhood eatery.
For those exploring local flavors, Wild Bill’s Sports Saloon stands out not just for its menu, but for the overall experience it provides. I really enjoy this place as a lunch time option and an occasional dinner for the family. Good appetizers and great entrees. Me personally also love the wings. As I said I really like lunch little slower so you get in, can get a seat anywhere. Food is fast, drinks are fast. Everything moves smoothly. The service is very friendly, engaged, and just straight up kind. Highly recommend. The bartender Carissa is a joy..she always seems to be there when I go and she is great. Knows the order by heart at this point so always fun exchanges. 10/10
1st time visit, and my boyfriend and I cannot wait to return!! This place was BUSY at 2pm on a Friday afternoon. As soon as we walked in all we could smell was the delightful jalapeno cream cheese item,(cant remember if it was wontons or what). The huge menu, unbeatable prices, and not so quick service that seems as if they’re rushing, but fast enough to keep you satisfied, this place will definitely become a regular spot for us. 3 out of 4 of us got chicken sandwiches, delicious. They had hot honey on the menu but not for a chicken sandwich, but accommodated nicely! Fries were nice and hot, burger cooked perfectly. My friend got nachos, and for $13 they were LOADED. I mean every chip had something, a lot of places lacked that. My bf and I got birria fries OMG YUM!!!! I have had a hatred for guac for a long time…I ate theirs by the spoonful. Heads bowed to their recipe writers, owner, cooks, and staff. Absolutely wowed by this place. Edit- had to go back again. Ribs are the best i’ve ever had. Service is eh.
Very great service. Our server Mariah did a fantastic job at caring for our table. The food was good but for the price it was as expected. Our appetizers were also enjoyable I would recommend the cheese curds. Definitely would be a place I would return to if I was from the area.
The food was good, the server was nice, overall we would come here again. But do not come here. If you're looking for drinks that are a little bit more on the interesting side. For example, something as simple as campari isn't available so a lot of drinks can't be made here. They also don't have actual. Ginger ale, they do something with bitters and soda with no Ginger and that's their equivalent. Little things like that could be resolved, and for someone who goes to a lot of restaurants I would have been very happy overall. So pretty easy to fix for someone who travels a lot. Overall, I would go back as the food was good, but I would have to stick with basics like rum and Coke, which is disappointing when they have other nice base spirits from which to work. It just doesn't appear to be a priority which is fine but ginger ale can be purchased in cans and kept for those few who prefer ginger in their are ginger ale. The old fashioned was quite nice, but aside from that drink it's very difficult to order something that's more of a prohibition style drink which would have been perfect at this location. Just my opinion, but it has so much potential for so little effort. I would make a few changes. Overall. Definitely worth going and having dinner and ordering a beer.
Jordan Raths is amazing! He has great customer service and totally helpful with any recommendations!! He gave exceptional customer service! He was friendly, attentive without being overbearing and made sure we had everything throughout the meal!! Give him a raise! He made sure all our drinks were filled and professionals all at the same time!
Went to play Bingo and eat some dinner for friend Reene’s Birthday. Wednesday from Addams Family fame was there! (Jk she was the waitress)but now she knows what she is going to be for Halloween! I just had chips and queso which didn’t taste that good besides being real watery. Good time tho!
